ABOUT The Daffodil Project CIC
A place where children grow, connect, and find their voice.
The Daffodil Project CIC is a therapeutic, nature-based inclusion centre based in Rainham, Kent. We support children who may be finding traditional educational settings overwhelming — offering them a different way to learn, develop, and thrive.
Designed specifically for children with autism, ADHD, anxiety, sensory needs, or communication differences, The Daffodil Project offers a slower, calmer, more responsive environment where children feel safe, understood, and valued.
Here, they’re not just another child sitting quietly on a carpet — they are seen, supported, and actively engaged. Our small-group sessions allow us to tailor activities to each child’s needs and interests. Whether it’s feeding the goats and chickens, petting our smaller animals, planting , cooking, baking , creative crafts, or exploring the sensory play, indoor and outdoor, every part of the day is designed to build confidence, skills, language, independence and joy.
We also work closely with families and schools to work on meaningful individualized targets — whether that's around communication, independence, social interaction or regulation. With on-site speech and language sessions available, we’re able to gently support children’s communication and expression within natural, engaging contexts where language flows more freely.
Our experienced team brings a warm, inclusive approach grounded in understanding, patience and care. Together, we create a space where children not only learn — they shine.
Whether you're a parent looking for something different, a professional wanting to refer, or someone who shares our vision, we welcome you to be part of our growing community.
Let’s build something beautiful, together.
What We Offer:
At The Daffodil Project CIC, we provide a warm, inclusive, and therapeutic space where children with additional needs can thrive through meaningful, hands-on learning experiences — tailored entirely to their strengths, interests, and goals.
Daily Sessions
We run two structured sessions each weekday:
Children can attend one or both sessions, depending on what best suits their needs and routines.
Each 3-hour session is flexible and fully personalised. We build each day around the child — whether they are drawn to animals, cooking, creative arts, or sensory exploration. If a child responds best to cooking, the session may involve preparing snacks, baking, or learning kitchen skills, all of which naturally weave in maths, communication, and independence. If they’re most engaged through animal care, we build the session around that, using feeding routines, grooming, and outdoor activities as rich learning opportunities.
Tailored Learning Through Real-Life ExperiencesTailored Learning Through Real-Life Experiences
All sessions are designed to promote:
We believe learning should be active, meaningful and fun, and we use each child’s natural interests to embed those core skills without the pressure of formal lessons.
We work closely with parents, carers, schools and to agree on focus areas and individual targets. Whether the aim is to build confidence, support sensory needs, develop communication or work on social understanding, every session is shaped with clear purpose.
Progress, achievements, and wow moments, will be shared daily through Tapestry App, and we maintain open, honest communication with families and schools to ensure what happens at The Daffodil Project supports wider goals — and helps each child shine across all areas of life.
What Parents Say
"worked with Maggie in a Specialist Education provision. Whilst working along side her I observed how she was willing to always go over and above to offer a safe and nurturing environment for the young people she worked with. She is able to plan activities and prepare them so they are accessible to all abilities. She is naturally artistic and creative and ensures that learning as is always a fun and engaging experience. She is patient and kind and has a passion for providing learning opportunities for children with additional needs. I would highly recommend Maggie for her dedication to helping others and her attention to detail."

"Maggie worked with my daughter for five years as her dedicated one-to-one teacher & support. My daughter has autism and severe learning difficulties, and throughout this time, Maggie was an outstanding teacher and mentor Maggie supported my daughter both in school and at home. She worked with her daily in the classroom, and also helped us outside of school, assisting in the home and taking my daughter into the community to help build her confidence and life skills. Her support was truly invaluable to our whole family. Maggie worked closely with our family, the school and the educational authority to develop a highly personalised learning program for our daughter - One that was not only educational, but also creative and engaging. She incorporated a wide range of activities, including forest school, farm school, and swimming, to support our daughter's development in a holistic and meaningful way. Maggie consistently thought outside the box, always seeking out new and exciting methods to teach and connect with our daughter, ensuring that learning was both accessible and enjoyable. During their time together, Maggie and my daughter formed an extremely strong bond. Thanks to Maggie’s dedication, creativity, and deep understanding of children with additional needs, my daughter made fantastic progress — socially, emotionally, developmentally , and academically. Maggie is highly intuitive and adapts activities with care and creativity to suit the individual child. She consistently evolved her approach to meet my daughter’s changing needs, always staying one step ahead and finding new, effective ways to teach and support her development. We are so grateful for everything Maggie has done for our family. She made a lasting difference in my daughter’s life, and I wholeheartedly recommend her knowledge, skills and expertise."
